Frequently Asked Questions

Q: At what age can my child tryout for a Team?
A: If your child is currently baseball age 8 and is rostered on a Minors-AA team he/she can tryout.

Q: What does a "tryout" look like?
A: Tryouts differ from coach to coach but each player is run through a number of stations to "rate" the players skills in throwing, hitting, fielding and understanding of the game. Coaches are looking for players who are good athletes but also take direction well.

Q: What should my child wear/bring to tryouts?
A: They should come in their uniform, wear a cup, and bring all their own baseball equipment. They will be running so please bring water. Players will be expected to show up 15 minutes before tryouts start and get out on the field to warm up.

Q: Can my child tryout for any/all of the teams?
A: Baseball 8's & 9's can tryout for the 9U team. Baseball 9's & 10's can tryout for the 10U team. Baseball 11's and 12's should tryout for the respective 11U and 12U teams. Again, players must be rostered in either the AA, AAA or Majors programs to be eligible.

Q: What is the commitment required for a Tournament Team?
A: Because our tournament teams are more "competitive," coaches may hold several practices during the week to get the team ready for tournament play. You can expect that your child will have on average 3 to 5 practices with scrimmage games. Before the scheduled district tournament.

Q: Will there be travel involved?
A: Your team may travel, but within driving distance of 1 or 2 hours. They may be for scrimmage or tournament games. If they should make districts and further you may travel out of state.

Q: Will the team get uniforms?
A: Parents are required to purchase their child 's uniform. Each child will be fitted for a tournament uniform (hat, shirt, pants, socks) as part of playing on the tournament team. Returning players may not have to purchase any new or additional apparel.
