Concessions

Conc3_0.jpgPeanuts, cracker jacks, hot dogs and soda. Some foods just go hand-in-hand with the game of baseball, even if nowadays you’re more likely to find burgers, fries, and Powerade. Baseball has always been about more than the game itself, it’s about the details. It’s about the experience. It’s a game without a timer. A game can last for hours – double-headers can run all day. Stomachs grow empty, and while excitement ebbs and flows, snacks and drinks with family, friends, and even strangers, can make for a wonderful day out.
MYB wants to give that whole experience to families. With two concession stands, one at Bise Field and one at AmTech Field, MYB aims to provide drinks, snacks and meals to players and their families at low prices. While these concessions are a wonderful addition to our program and to our community, they also take a great deal of commitment to run in a successful manner. Conc1_0.jpg MYB expects that parents of children playing baseball volunteer some of their time to help run the concession stands. Parents are asked to help serve food and drinks at one or more of their children’s games. Working the Concessions is an easy way to show your children that it takes a ‘team’ to run the baseball program. It often ends up being one of a parent’s favorite ways to socialize with other parents beyond the field. Team parents usually organize this effort – so that the other parents just need to show up. MYB also wants you to know that any additional volunteering at our concession stands is always welcomed with open arms.
